VBOX Sensor 100Hz |
|
|
The VBOX
100Hz Sensor is a high end vehicle speed sensor which uses a powerful
GPS engine to calculate vehicle speed 100 times a second using the
Doppler effect. The output is not interpolated, and represents a true
100Hz update of the vehicle's speed. The VBOX Speed sensor is designed
to output velocity as an Analogue voltage or a Digital frequency.
(Note: If
you require a simple speed sensor, for a speedo or similar, then please
have a look at the GPSTran) |

A typical
use for the 100Hz speed sensor is as an input into a third party logging
system, in replacement of Optical, Fifth wheel or Radar systems. We have
carried out extensive testing of this sensor to satisfy customers that
the accuracy is as high as any other form of speed/distance measurement.
The
latency of this speed sensor is 12.5ms, making it one of the fastest
non-contact speed sensors on the market.

Racelogic have used
their Spirent GPS simulator extensively to develop and test the 100Hz GPS
engine, working closely with the GPS manufacturer to maximise the
performance of the speed output. This means that the 100Hz sensor gives
very real benefits over a conventional 20Hz sensor, giving a very high
bandwidth signal with very low noise.
These are
settings which we have developed, and are exclusive to the VBOX range of
products. |
